About the Role

Outreach Center Staff are responsible for assisting the outreach coordinator with NightLight's outreach efforts--reaching out to Thai and international women in the red-light area where NightLight works. This is a support-raised/volunteer position. A minimum commitment of two years is required.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Teaching classes that will be made available for the community, including English classes, job training, job searching, organizational skills, health, and computer skills.

  2. Helping to organize and serve at our weekly beauty salon outreach and monthly outreach events (typically medical clinics and outreach parties).

  3. Identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing potential referral sources and job opportunities within our surrounding area.

  4. Attending outreaches to the surrounding bars.

  5. Preparing weekly reports of connections made.

  6. Spending time praying in our prayer room at the center.

  7. Coordinating visiting teams going on outreach.


Qualifications:
  1. Strong organizational skills and an outgoing personality.

  2. Experience with Word, Excel, and other software applications.

  3. Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, public relations, business development, ministry, communication, or social services desired. Equivalent experience is also considered.

  4. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  5. Ability to work independently as well as on a team, and be accountable for results.

  6. Teaching experience in relevant fields preferred.

  7. Knowledge of and/or experience in working with the specific needs of a red-light area or at-risk communities.

  8. Organizational skills and/or case management experience to help with record-keeping and follow-up with individuals.

  9. Willingness to work several late-night shifts per week.

  10. Willingness to learn the Thai language. Enrollment in full-time language school is required.

  11. Able to make a 2-year commitment to NightLight.

  12. Wholehearted unity with NightLight’s statement of faith, core values, and DNA.

  13. Ever-growing personal relationship with Jesus and passion to point others to him.

Our Mission: NightLight is an international organization compelled by love to reach out to, rescue, and restore all those who are negatively impacted by sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. Our vision is to offer intervention to sexually exploited women and children, to enable them to discover their dignity, and to provide a program of holistic transformation, empowering them to live and work in their community. NightLight operates in both Bangkok, Thailand and Missouri, USA.


Our Team: NightLight is a faith-based organization. In Thailand, our staff team is comprised of local Thai staff and international staff. Our international staff are responsible for mobilizing a team of financial partners to pray and give for their personal ministry. This is called "raising support" and is a common practice among mission organizations. In Thailand, we invite international staff to join our work for commitments of 1 year or more.
